NOTICE AMHERST COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS The Amherst County Democratic Committees hereby announces that it will hold an assembled caucus beginning at 7:30 p.m., on January 12, 2010 at the CVCC AMHERST CENTER, Mountainview Plaza, 200 Richmond Highway, Suite 103, Amherst, VA 24521. for the purpose of electing members to the Amherst County Democratic Committee. The caucus will elect at least one (1) member from each of the eleven (11) precincts of Amherst County. Any person wishing to seek election as a member of the committee must file with J. David Burford, Chair of the Amherst County Democratic Committee, 212 Burford Farm Road, Monroe, VA 24574, no later than 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2010. A voluntary administrative fee of $10.00 will be requested at the time of filing for those wishing to be elected members of the committee. There is no charge for those wishing to attend and vote at the caucus. Doors to the caucus will open at 6:30 pm. for check-in. Before participating in that caucus, each person attending the caucus, shall sign a standardized Caucus Participation Form stating that he or she is a Democrat, does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee in the ensuing general election, believes in the principles of the Democratic Party, and is a registered voter in such precinct. Caucus Participation Forms must be filled out at the caucus prior to participating in the caucus. At 7:30 p.m., the doors to the caucus will be closed and no person may complete a form and participate in the caucus after that time with the exception of those persons already in line at 7:30 p.m. For further information, please contact David Burford, Amherst County Democratic Committee at 434-841-7420.
